Minions

These cards are usually represented by characters and creatures from the in-game story and lore. The primary stat set that all the minions share is Attack Power and Health Points․ Some minions feature abilities, which are represented by universal keywords or special conditions which are explained with text on the card.

Minion cards, when played, appear on the battlefield as portraits with their AP/HP stats displayed at the bottom sides of the portrait. Some abilities, such as “Taunt”, add some special effects or frames to the minion portrait on the battlefield. The player can hover over the portrait to view the abilities or functions the minion has. Minions on the battlefield can attack enemy minions or the enemy Hero.

Some minion cards can have a spell attached to them that will be shown as a circle on the minion cards. These spells have a mana cost and can be cast (by spending the additional mana) by the player after the minion was summoned to the battlefield.

An important feature of the minion cards is the tribe represented by the type of creature shown on the card. The tribe is displayed at the bottom of the card, for example, a minion card would have the word “Dragon” at the bottom of the card. The tribes allow the creation of certain effects and special conditions that could synergize with each other and let the player come up with decks and strategies that involve minions from certain tribes. Some minion cards may not belong to any tribe.
